More Geese than Swans (March 2025)
Titled after the final line of the madrigal The Silver Swan, this exhibition responds to a poetic lament on the decline of rare beauty and wisdom: “More Geese than Swans now live, more Fools than Wise.”
Swans, in this framing, are refined and beautiful; geese are common and domestic. I’m interested in what gets dismissed as ordinary—and how that dismissal often maps onto femininity, care, and craft.
